The $8000 federal tax credit is set to expire December 1, 2009. This federal tax credit up to $8,000 is for 1st time home buyers and is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

To qualify you must purchase your primary residence and live there for 36 months. The annual income limit is $75,000  per person or $150,000 per couple.
